we were sent to the red planet during a 30-day solar transit ruled by Mars.

from the beginning, no one know how long the mission would last.
some tried to keep track of time. but it was futile.
we did what we were trained to do and assimilated.
a couple of the deployment_3_preservers were contracted for their adaptability percentile.
they had stories from all over the universe. extreme conditions. much worse than this.
most of us were contracted for our minds. well, our consciousness. the architecture for our thought processes, not the thoughts themselves.
we were the sharpest left of our species at the time, with awareness that had yet to be replicated through the modern cloning methods (on the blue planet). some humans called this “telepathy”, but it was more than that.
we possessed a conscious connection to past lives, previous “selves”.
this characterized most of the group, except one.
one was distant Martian. a hybrid of sorts.
she was the bridge between the spirit of our world and the soul of theirs – the purpose of the mission.
by the time anyone receives this, we’ll be long gone and the next wave of Preservers will have replaced us.
just know that we did what we could to merge life between red planet and blue.
